Nick Brandreth just called and was all like… Yo… go check Thrashbike right now… so’s I did. And Yo… Nicky B. came thru again with a fresh edit of Adam laying down some lines at his winter spot… the Hackettstown, N.J. skatepark. So, here it is for your viewing enjoyment.
I’ve Been meaning to post these photos for Florida ripper Little “B” but I lost the original e mail and wanted to attempt to contact the guy who sent them… So when you read this please drop me a line with Lil B’s info so I can correct his post.
It’s about damn time…. I can finally legally buy Adam a drink in our own country. If you see Adam this week and you should be buying drinks… buy the man a round.
Fuckin’ Jim Dizzle… he’s like a tough version of Peter Pan… with a mustache!!!
Luke clocks one before the injury…. there’s pissy BMX’er in there too.
Jim makes the broken down transitions of the “Fun Spot” in downtown Santa Cruz look fun.
Santa Cruz has some of the best 26″ riders in the world and 2 seriously stylish riders in Jim Tharp and new BMX convert Luke Brennan. Luke has also recently started shooting photos and showing some talent behind the lens too… probably a good thing while he’s still recovering from a broken ankle.
Here’s the team of Jim Dizzle and Loc Dog… breakin’ it down.
First ever Mob ride for my mom… I was pretty stoked.
My mom and her dog Lulu, this also marks the first time I’ve ever seen my mom ride a bike and her first time riding a BlkMrkt. Weird…
Probably my favorite part or road trips… the scenery.
The road home….
My campground in Utah…
Loaded up and truckin’…
Check out this little rippers ride… he even had ti spokes.
Matt takes the Contraband for a lap…
There were some interesting photos added to the decor by some guys from Idaho… well to each their own.
Taking the Contraband around a tight corner at speed.
Railing the slide ride on the Contra
Thanks for letting me ride Matt!!!
topped off with a tight tranny 2 tire on the Contraband in the dart room, all in a days work for Josh. All wheels all sizes.
moving on to his first attempt at riding a 26″ with a downside out of Matt’s backyard bowl…
Josh Hult is burly and can adapt to anything… here he flairs at height over an unforgiving surface with no hesitation….
Jeff takes possession of the first Mob at 50/50 sold by Eddie Buckley himself
50/50
Sorry for lack of updates while I’ve been on the road but internet has been spotty at best and I forgot my card reader to post photos. I just got back from a quick trip out to the Ranch Style slope style contest in Grand Junction, Co. I made the trip solo leaving at 4 AM on friday morning.
I pinned it straight thru only stopping for gas and 5 hour energy crack shots making it to the Ranch in just over 10 hours. After walking around for an hour I attempted to get a few laps on the dual course which was fast & flowly with short, quick, steep jumps. The 2 courses were very different from each other which turned out to effect me a lot more than it did Tyler McCaul. We both ran our first laps ever on the left course as our qualifier… I missed the cut, Tyler made it and went on to finish 3rd behind the locals.
Based on the impending weather about to smack into Grand Junction and me not feeling the course I decided to pass on the slopestyle and headed to Salt Lake City to meet up with Eddie Buckley who co-owns the 50/50 Bike Shop in Layton, Utah and BlkMrkt’s newest dealer.
Once I met up with Shreddie and Josh Hult from Idaho we went and checked out the shop where Eddie proceeded to sell his first Mob frame within 20 minutes of putting it on the wall. We all rode the Layton skatepark for a bit before heading over to Matt Beringer’s legendary fun house complete with waterslide ride and insanely tight garage bowl with fresh dart board graphics.
I want to thank Eddie, Matt, Josh and the rest of the guys who made my trip. If you’re in the N. SLC area and looking for BlkMrkt… you know where to go, 50/50. Check out dealer locator for more information.
I just got home from the Sea Ferret/ the Aptos Jump Jam which took place in Monterey last weekend and if you haven’t seen it yet… I was interviewed by PinkBike.com where I proceed to stumble all over my words and apparently have chapped lips or it was hot as fuck and I hate being in front of the camera talking. Oh well, I tried…
I also managed to over jump the 7′ nipple thing and land on my head during my race against Chase in Dual Stunt… I got worked!!! The jump jam was badass as always with tons of talent from everywhere. Brandon Seminuk is just ridiculous!!!
It’s that time of year when the contest start popping up all over the world. This week Adam’s in Germany at the T Mobile Extreme Playgrounds. I rode in this event last year and had a good time. There will be a indoor slopestyle for the 26″ riders and BMX dirt for the 20″ guys. It will be live, so follow the link and watch Adam shred in Duisberg.
And while Adam’s riding a sick set-up in Germany I’ll be at the… or I should say, I’m at the Sea Otter in Monterey, Ca. racing speed trials. Kyle Ebbet and Jeff Lenosky built a pretty challenging course that flows for really well the most part… I hate the bunnyhop box thing. Sea Otter report coming soon.
Alan Foster gives a big thumbs up from his hospital bed after Saturday’s bad luck.
Get back soon Alan…
I went down to ride Sheep Hills with a bunch of SHL’s from yesterday and today. Unfortunately during Alan Foster’s first run into French Connection ( which is so fuckin’ steep and tall if you tag… keep reading.), Alan got a bit leaned and stiff and if that wasn’t bad enough… he clipped both wheels of his 20″ on the top of the first landing sending his to his head at bottom of an easily 8′.
Alan hit the ground hard enough to literally shake it. He gave himself a pretty good shiner, bloody nose, busted lips and hurt some ribs pretty bad from what we knew because was having a hard time breathing. He was taken away by the paramedics to be safe and that turned out to be a good thing. Alan suffered a broken back that will require surgery tomorrow, so wish him well.
