Black Market Bicycles, L.L.C. Warranty Policy
All Black Market frames which are purchased through an authorized Black Market dealer are warranted, to the original registered owner, to be free of defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase.
Original owners must provide a copy of the original sales receipt and have registered their frame by mailing in the registration form or by filling in the form on our website before a claim will be considered; as this confirms the purchaser is the original owner.
Original registered owners whose warranty has expired, or have had a misadventure can take advantage of our crash replacement program. Under this program we will replace damaged parts at a nominal cost, upon return of the original parts.
Limitations
We warrant the frame only.
Frame component parts are not covered under the warranty [bearings, nuts, bolts]. Black Market will carry inventory to service these frames.
Black Market finishes [paint, anodizing] are not covered under warranty.
This warranty is non-transferable and is only available to the original owner. Black Market will not under any circumstances warranty a frame without a copy of the original sales receipt, or sold through an un-authorized Black Market Dealer.
If you’re not doing so already, KEEP YOUR SALES RECEIPT, in a safe place for all your bikes and bike component purchases; most every manufacturer requires a receipt to process a claim.
All claims must be facilitated through a Black Market Dealer, who will request a return authorization number [RA] from us directly. Any Black Market product that arrives at our office without an authorization number will be refused.
Black Market will only ship replacements to an authorized Black Market dealer.
Component parts, are all warranted by their respective manufacturers. If you’re having a problem with a particular manufacturer, please contact us for assistance.
Black Market Dealers are authorized to make an initial call on whether a claim can be made. Therefore they require the complete bike, and not just the frame to deem whether it qualifies – so don’t strip the bike down and just bring that to the dealer.
Black Market Bikes is ultimately and solely responsible for determining whether a failure has occurred through a manufacturing defect, crash, due to modifications, neglect, or improper installation of component parts.
This warranty does not cover damage from: misadventure, unapproved modifications [including repainting the frame], improper assembly of components, or from direct impact in instances where there is simultaneous breakage of other component parts or the forks.
We have designed our frames to be stronger than the components. In all of our tests, the components have broken before the frame.
Black Market is not responsible for any costs incurred through disassembly of the bike, packaging, or freight costs associated with the claim. All of these cost are the responsibility of the claimant.
These bikes can break. All bikes, no matter how heavy, can break. Normal crashes are all part of freeriding and our bikes are designed to withstand the rigors of day in day out riding and racing.
This warranty represents the entire warranty policy and supersedes all previous warranties, understandings, or agreements, either oral, written, expressed or implied.
